Requirements
The team behind Baby Led Kitchen approached us to help design and develop a mobile app that would bring their recipe content to life and make it more accessible to parents navigating the early stages of feeding.
The app needed to:
- Provide quick, intuitive access to baby-led weaning recipes
- Allow users to search and filter recipes by ingredient, allergies, dietary requirement, and more
- Include key information such as suitable age ranges, allergen warnings, and storage tips

Solution
We designed and built the Baby Led Kitchen app as a fully native experience for iOS and Android, using a clean, vibrant interface optimised for busy parents. The app includes a powerful recipe browser, with filters for ingredients, dietary needs, preparation time, and more — making it easy for users to find ideas that work for them in the moment.
Each recipe includes prep steps, storage info, photos, allergen advice, and suitable age indicators. Users can favourite recipes, access them offline, and receive regular content updates, ensuring the app remains valuable well beyond the weaning stage.
The backend was designed for easy content management and international scalability, supporting fast-growing demand while maintaining app performance and reliability.
We also worked with the client to ensure the tone and design of the app felt warm, supportive, and practical — reflecting the ethos of the Baby Led Kitchen community.
Results
The Baby Led Kitchen app has been a phenomenal success, with over 80,000 downloads and sales in more than 50 countries. It frequently holds the No.1 spot in the Food & Drink category on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and has received glowing reviews from parents around the world.
The app has become a go-to resource for families embracing baby-led weaning, helping to grow the Baby Led Kitchen brand and establish it as a leader in the space. With a strong foundation and a growing user base, the platform is now well positioned for continued growth — from new recipe packs to expanded features for returning users.
