Glebe House School is a leading independent prep school located on the North Norfolk coast. Known for its nurturing environment, strong academic foundations, and rich heritage, Glebe offers education from nursery through to Year 8, combining traditional values with a forward-thinking approach.
The school is proud of its vibrant community, outstanding pastoral care, and strong links with senior schools across the region — but their website no longer reflected any of that.
Requirements
Glebe House’s previous website had become outdated and difficult to manage. Staff were unable to upload school news, make simple updates, or showcase what made the school special. The site didn’t reflect the warmth, professionalism, or heritage of the school — and certainly didn’t match the quality of education on offer.
They needed a new digital presence that would:
- Reflect the heritage branding and high standards of the school
- Allow staff to easily update content and post regular news and events
- Serve as an extension of their printed prospectus for prospective parents
- Work seamlessly across devices with a clean, elegant design
Solution
We designed and built a new WordPress website that honours the school’s historic branding while bringing its online presence up to date. The site combines timeless design elements — such as classic typography and the school’s colour palette — with modern UX principles and responsive layout.
The new platform allows staff to quickly and easily update the site with news posts, events, galleries, and term dates. We provided training and created a simple backend interface to empower non-technical users. The site also features clear navigation for prospective parents, with dedicated areas for admissions, curriculum, and pastoral care — reflecting the structure and tone of the printed school brochure.
The result is a site that feels both reassuringly traditional and refreshingly modern, just like the school itself.
Results
Since launch, the website has transformed how Glebe House communicates with current and prospective families. Staff can now update the site themselves, keeping parents informed and the content fresh. News stories and event highlights help bring daily school life to life online.
The new design has received positive feedback from parents, governors, and partner schools, and plays an important role in admissions — making a strong first impression and offering a polished, welcoming experience across all devices. The school finally has a website that matches the quality of the education it offers.
